NWG Wins A 2005
N'Hood Improvement Award!
by Weir Chuft
January 2006

San Jose Beautiful has chosen North Willow Glen for one of its NIAs for 2005. In particular, SJB looked at three of the ways the neighborhood accomplished its improvements: physical beautification efforts (such as the gateway fences), tree planting, and working with the city to fund big-ticket projects (such as the vintage lampposts, the Spencer Avenue reconstruction, and Fuller Park). See photos below.

Palm Haven, our neighbor to the west, also won an award for completing their restoration of their seven gateway pillars. Congratulations Palm Haven!

The City Council will present the award to North Willow Glen and the other finalists at its meeting on January 24, 2006.
