The Fourth of July
Neighborhood Block Party 2005
by Lessall Pichin
July 2005

It was great.
Your friendly neighborhood association hosted a neighborhood-wide block party with kid's games, free ice cream, community social time and a great view (down Delmas Avenue) of the downtown fireworks. We probably had 200 people attend the block party, and 300 or so for the fireworks. A great time was had by all!

Guest Volunteers: Charlie and Sara McCabe (center) visited the neighborhood from Texas and helped Dan Erceg
fetch tables and chairs in the vintage beer truck, with Debbie Palmer and Ken Eklund (outside).

Al Eydam hangs decorations at Starbrite Market (left) while Jim Moore, event organizer, directs other volunteers (right).

The water balloon toss starts out easy....

Third time was a charm for this trophy girl.

Folk trio music by the Symphonic Sprites. Thanks, Sprites!

Wait -wait-waiting for the Ice Cream Man.

And finally, fireworks! Perfect view from the middle of Delmas Avenue.

Special thanks to Jim Moore for organizing this very successful event,
and to all the many many volunteers who made it happen.
