To add value for its member teachers, Montana JASON commissioned a science mystery that linked (1) a setting that could pass for Montana with (2) the Louisiana wetlands (the focus of JASON's 2005 program). "Strange Dead Bird" accomplishes this with a mystery centered on a dead migratory bird and adds (3) a hot contemporary science issue - the West Nile Virus.
