First 5 Contra Costa County wanted to create a "preschool in a bag" kit that would encourage caregivers to engage in play and learning activities that will prepare children for kindergarten.
Working with Rick Tharp and Tharp Did It, Writerguy helped innovate the idea of kit as character. The "Preschool Learning Kit" was transformed into Tigo, a loveable bus. Tigo's smiling face and on-the-move energy help make the play and learning ideas inviting and accessible.
Tigo has rolled his way into the hearts of preschoolers throughout the county, and First 5 Contra Costa is expanding the concept into a "Tigo On The Move" mini-kit for even wider outreach.
